Pasar Minggu – AP2HI signed off MoU with Sekolah Tinggi Perikanan (STP) Jakarta in the framework of one-by-one tuna fisheries development, or for pole and line and hand-line fishery, as well as implementing the “Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi” or mission of STP Jakarta. Janti Djuari as Chairman of AP2HI and Dr. Ir I Nyoman Suyasa, MS as Head of STP Jakarta signed the MoU on August 11, 2016.
The scopes of cooperation under the MoU are including strengthening the capacity of fishermen, internship program for STP students to AP2HI member companies, testing samples of fish and conduct joint research. “Expected outcomes from this partnership that AP2HI and STP can enhance the capacity building of fishermen and coastal communities and join cooperation for internship and research” Said Janti Djuari.
Related to training for fishermen and coastal communities, AP2HI will provide training materials (training modules and training posters) and trainers and STP will provide expert as one of the trainers, and also provide accommodation and other facility needed for training. Internship program will enable STP students to be assigned at AP2HI member companies who need intern. Hopefully through this internship program the STP students will obtain more knowledge, skill and experiences at field.
The duration of cooperation under MoU is one year period and will be evaluated and can be extended according to the needs and the agreement of both parties. (Mila)
